About me

As the name of my website already reveals, my name is Celina Hermann and I am an artist from Hamburg. Sitting at the kitchen table, pensively resting my head in my hands, I am trying to tell you something about myself that will make me interesting in your beautifully shaped minds:

Also, I have been painting and crafting all sorts of things my whole life – I am no exception among artists on this planet. While other children played together in kindergarten, my mother would regularly find me alone in the arts and crafts room, working on all kinds of creative projects. That is where I felt most at home as a child – just me and my hands, creating something, without anyone being able to bother me.

Growing up, I somehow lost my way a little. After my Abitur, I initially applied to an art university, but unfortunately was rejected. I did not feel good enough for the art world, especially as a woman, so I decided to take a different path. After ten tough, hard-fought years of studying, I found myself in 2024 as a freshly graduated environmental engineer. When I then catapulted myself into the professional world, I realised after a relatively short time that I did not feel comfortable there. It made me depressed, just as my studies had already done, and burned me out. After less than a year, I quit – and it was the best thing that ever happened to me. I was finally free!

For the first time in my life, I had the time to dedicate myself fully to my art. And here we are: I may be an engineer, but first and foremost I am an artist. I simply cannot be any other way. This is the way! This is my way!
